Micromax with Google to launch Android Oreo Go Phone at around $30

Remember Google signed up with Micromax long time back for Android One devices? The program was a huge hit however didn’t sustain well for long. Google at that time partnered with other companies as well to bring devices under Android One program. Now, Google has again collaborated with Micromax to bring Android Oreo Go edition devices which aims to provide Android Oreo Go phone for around $30 only.

Micromax Phone Android Oreo Go Edition

Micromax is not the only one from Indian manufacturers that has come along with Google. Karbonn, Intex and Lava are also in the line however Micromax will be the one to launch the device at first.

Android Orea – Go Edition has been launched especially for entry-level smartphones, the OS also comes up with special Go apps such as Files Go by Google, Google Go, YouTube Go, etc. These apps would also not consume much of the memory since they are specially designed to work on lower memory phones.

Jio is also in talks with Google to club them as well in this program and we believe you must be aware of the devices which are already available in 2500 range by various manufacturers.

The device will be kept at a less price affordable for people who are entering the Android world for the first time or are low-budget users. Don’t expect even decent specs on the device, the OS is specifically designed so that it can run on low-end devices.

This movie will also help Indian Mobile manufacturers in gaining their share in smartphone market once again which are facing a stiff competition from Chinese manufacturers. According to a report by IDC, it is observed that the share of Indian mobile manufacturers has decreased from 50% to 15% in just 2 years.

Expected Launch: January 26, 2017

Price: Around $30

Update: Micromax Android Oreo GO Phone to be named Micromax Bharat Go.
