Yu which is the online subsidiary of Mciromax has finally launched their much awaited handset new YU Yunicorn aiming to make the mid range segment yet more attractive. Company has strategically priced this handset at the amount of INR 12,999 hence making it affordable and a good alternative who can’t go for premium handsets.

Without any second thoughts we can say that it is the best looking handset till date from the company. Though while looking at it we get the glimpse of Oppo F1 Plus and HTC One series but Micromax has worked differently this time and has bought the smart phone which stands apart in comparison to its successors in the YU flagship.
We have white color handset with its front slightly trim up giving it the resemblance of iPhones but there is a slight twist as it also boards fingerprint scanner placed inside an oval button. Company claims that since they have used Magnesium with aluminium it provides the metallic back of the handset enough ruggedness so that it white color lasts for much more time.

It runs on Octa-core processor and processor is coupled along with 4GB RAM which provide smooth and lag free performance. On memory front YU has ditched 16GB variant this time and has opted 32GB of memory on the board which can further be extended up to 128GB via Micro SD card slot.
As we have mentioned above it operates on stock Android based on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and company claims that they will upgrade to Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS within a month. New OS will offer features like vertical app drawer, monochrome mode for all the readers that also helps in extending battery life.
