Hue! the new canvas device has been launched with model number AQ5000, we already posted regarding the device few days back as we saw the device being listed on Zauba’s website. The device claims to provide a battery backup of 30 days, is that true? Yes it is true but there is a twist, read the below post to know more about the device. The phone will be made available to buy from January 16, 2015.
One of the interesting thing about this device is that it claims to provide Lollipop update directly from Google. Is that an Android One device?
Well at least we think so it is indeed an Android One phone. Not many Micromax devices have received regular Android OS updates. Micromax Canvas A1 is subjected to receive the Lollipop update and this device now join the race.

The phone features a 5-inch super Amoled screen size with 1280*720p resolution and for screen protection it uses Corning Gorilla glass 3 while the pixel density is 293ppi. It runs on a 1.3GHz quad core MediaTek processor based on MT6582 chipset coupled with 1GB of RAM. The price at which the device will be launched is the price segment under which there are a list of phones featuring 2GB of RAM as well.
ROM is about 8GB out which 5.46GB would be available for apps installation and massage storage, ROM seems pretty OK, the memory is expandable up to 32GB via an external SD card. Sensors like G-sensor/Proximity/ Light Sensor/Magnetic are present in the device.
The phone covers an 8MP rear camera with 2MP of front camera which can be used for video chat and clicking selfies. BTW, A selfie phone i.e. canvas selfie is also on its way to Indian market and will be launched soon. The rear camera has the auto focus feature while the front camera has fixed focus.
As far as OS is concerned, the device runs on Android 4.4.2 Kitkat and Micromax has clearly stated that the Lollipop update will be available for this device by Google directly.
Does Canvas Hue really provides 30 days battery backup?
If you use this phone normally like using multimedia, apps and games then expect the device to offer a talktime of 9.5 hours and a standby time of 280 hours. Then how come 30 days backup?
Well, it features a super power saving mode that provides such a large battery backup. How? It provides a black and white interface offering calling and messaging facility. Sleep time and brightness are set automatically to enhance the battery backup performance.
We know most of you won’t use the feature much but if you have low battery count present and you aren’t having the charger or any power bank with you then you can turn on this feature to run the device for long.
