Micromax Canvas Knight Vs Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 VS HTC Desire 500

Two months back Samsung unveiled its beast Grand 2 in front of the Indian Market in turn to which Micromax released Canvas Knight A350 known for its Octa core processor. And third variant which gives tough competition to both of them is HTC Desire 500. All three are having their own perks one is known for its display quality and grand size while other for its fast operating system and processor with unique looks on the other hand third for its good design at reasonable price.

So the comparison between these three phones is very obvious and hence we are discussing their specs and features in detail, let’s have a look which can emerges out as the winner.

Sometimes looks and design is the foremost priority of some customers and hence the android with great looks and design wins the show. Micromax Canvas Knight is having its look quite similar to iPhone while Grand 2 and HTC Desire 500 both possess regular bar look. Coming at the dimensions Grand 2 measures 146.8X75.3X8.9 and weighing 163grams while HTC Desire 500 measures 131.8X66.9X9.9 weighing 163grams.

Winner:  If ask me I would go for Micromax Canvas Knight as it is having quite different look which gives the feeling of as if holding iPhone and moreover we all have got bore of regular bar look. So for a change Canvas Knight is a good option.


Micromax Canvas Knight sports 5” inches color IPS screen having resolution of 1080X1920 with Multi touch and 16M colors. Samsung Grand 2 is having 5.25” inches TFT capacitive display with screen resolution of 720X1280 pixels (280ppi pixel density) and 16M colors. On the other hand HTC Desire is having smallest display of all as it flaunts 4.3” inches TFT capacitive touch screen display with 480X800 screen resolution and 16M colors (217ppi pixel density).

Winner: Grand 2 is having bigger display, so anybody who wants a bigger screen can go for Grand 2 while Micromax Canvas Knight provides better screen resolution and hence better and crispier display quality. Hence it’s up to the customers what they want bigger screen or better display quality.



Micromax Canvas Knight runs on Octa core MT6592T processor which is clocked at the frequency of 2GHz while Samsung Grand 2 is having Quad core Qualcomm MSM8226 Snapdragon 400 processor and runs on 1.2GHz cortex A7 CPU. HTC Desire runs on 1.2 GHz Quad core Cortex A5 processor based on Qualcomm MSM8225Q Snapdragon 200 chipset.

Winner: we don’t even need a comparison here, with Octa core processor in hand who wants to look at the quad core processor. Therefore Micromax Canvas Knight A350 is the sole winner here.


Operating System:

Micromax Canvas Knight and HTC Desire 500 operate on Android 4.2 Jelly bean while Samsung Grand 2 operates on Android 4.3 Jelly bean.

Winner: There is nothing much difference in between them in terms of operating system and hence there is a draw between the three.



Micromax Canvas Knight is having 2GB of internal RAM with 32GB of internal memory leaving no requirement for external memory card slot. On the other hand Grand 2 is having 1.2GB of internal RAM and 8GB of internal memory with expandable memory up to 64GB via MicroSD card slot.

HTC Desire 500 houses 1GB of internal RAM with internal storage of 4GB with expandable memory upto 64GB via MicroSD card slot.



Micromax Canvas Knight is houses 16MP camera at the rear with features like Geo-tagging, touch to focus, face detection and secondary camera of 8GB. Canvas Knight can record videos at 1080p and is also having LED flash and auto focus.

Talking about the Samsung Grand 2 now, it sports 8MP camera at the rear with features like geo tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection, Image stabilization and 1.9MP front facing camera for video calling and clicking selfie. It can also record video at 1080p and having LED flash along with Flash light.

Now HTC Desire is having 8MP camera with features like ½.2” sensor size, 1.4microm pixel size, geo tagging, face and smile detection etc. It is also having front facing camera of 1.6MP and rear camera is capable of recording videos at 720p with auto focus and flash light.



Battery is considered as the life line of Android device, so its become a necessity to have strong and long lasting battery backup. Micromax Canvas Knight houses 2350mAh Li-Ion non removable battery which delivers talk time of 450 minutes and stand by time of 175 hours. Coming to Samsung Grand 2 it houses 2600 Li-Ion battery which provides stand by time of 370h and talk time of 17 h. Now talking about the back up of HTC Desire 500 we get 1800mAh Li-Ion battery which provides standby time of 435 hours and talk time of 726 minutes.
