Google Play store is an app store to download and install new applications to an Android device, update the existing apps (if any update is available), provides useful operations like authentication to the Google services, synchronization of contacts, access to all the latest user privacy settings and location based services too.
The app is available in every Android device by default as the stock ROM always consist of Google play store and other Google services. There are several other app stores like one of the most popular is Amazon App store which plays the same role in installing/updating the apps however it still lacks in other services which is provided by Google under Play Store.
There comes various instances when users delete/uninstall some apps from their phone. The reason can be the shortage of space, any error something like ” The _____ has stopped”. So in that case most of the users either uninstall the app or disable it.
In case you’ve accidentally deleted the Play Store application and you’re facing issues while installing or updating any app, we have presented a way to get it back.
Google Play Store Re installation instructions:
Users can download the play store app anytime from the play store itself. Since the play store application would not be present in the phone because of the uninstallation process, either you can download its .apk file from the web or you can open your account on play.google.com and forcing to install the app to your phone.
Step I: Download Google Play Services .apk File
The apk can be downloaded from this link. Since Google updates the Play services application on regular intervals so it is advised to search for the updated file on web. As of now (7/12/2014) the provided link points to the latest version.
Transfer the downloaded apk file to your phone and install it and enjoy the play services. Account setup will be required again I believe. Correct me if I am wrong.
Step II : Install by logging into your play account.
- Open play.google.com and log in with your account which was associated with your Android phone.
- Search for Google Play services – Link.
- Click on install and select the device for installation.
- That’s it.
