Android Kitkat Update Now Available for Micromax Canvas Knight

Micromax has rolled out the most awaited Android kitkat update for canvas knight running on Jelly bean operation system. Canvas Knight was launched with Jelly bean out of the box and now an upgrade is available and that too officially. With increasing competition with domestic mobile companies like Lava, Xolo, Intex and chinese companies Gionee and Xiaomi this step was indeed much predictable. Most of the companies have started providing Android updates to their devices.

Micromax Canvas Knight Android Kitkat Availability

The above image showing the upgradation of canvas knight from Jelly bean to Android kitkat is shared by the official page of Micromax on Facebook today (2 Aug, 2014). Canvas Knight was launched with 2.0GHz processor and Android jelly bean out of the box, remember the heating issues encountered in the device? Then the new stock was imported with 1.7GHz octa core and Android 4.4.2 Kitkat.

Those knight users still having Android jelly bean can now upgrade their device with Kitkat OS from the phone itself or manually.

When I proceed with installation the phone reboots but then just as the updation begins, the phone reboots again with the same old Android 4.2.2 jellybean. PLEASE TELL ME, IF I WANTED TO UPDATE THE PHONE MANUALLY, IT CAN BE DONE WITH SP TOOLS I GUESS AND CANVAS KNIGHT HAS A NON REMOVABLE BATTERY. IS IT STILL POSSIBLE TO MANUALLY UPDATE MY PHONE? PLEASE RESPOND. THANK U

  4. Manoj Joshi says:

    Hi Rahul,

My canvas knight is having Jelly been version but when I have clicked on update software it is showing “The current system software is up-to-date.” My phone is working very slow. It may be due to old version and I don’t know much about manual updation. Please advice how to update to kitkat or lollipop version.

  5. Pramod nayal says:

Please update my phon canvas Knight A350 new version.. Lollipop.

  6. Sunil Singh says:

I had purchased this phone during the launch itself since the phone seemed to be a beast in terms of its RAM/ ROM , Camera etc etc ..Later on i purchased a Xiaomi MI3 phone after 8-9 months and during this time Canvas had released the Kitkat update and MI3 too came with the same Android version.
Today my Xiaomi MI3 is running on Android Marshmallow but Micromax has never released any update. This is the reason that people don’t prefer buying high end phones from Indian companies and rather prefer buying Chinese phones as they keep on getting regular updates for at least 3-4 years ? I think to stay in the competition, Micromax has to realise this fact and start working on this line immediately.
